Do you ever wish you could take a time machine back to ancient Egypt? Because the exhibition, National Geographic – Beyond King Tut: The Immersive Experience, is in town!
Beyond King Tut is a wonderful way to feel as if you’ve stepped right back to a time when King Tutankhamun ruled and people worshipped gods like Anubis and Ra. There are nine different multi-sensory galleries. Larger-than-life multimedia displays and real artifacts will help you feel that you’ve gone back in time. You can even enter a recreation of King Tut’s burial chamber. You’ll learn a lot about ancient Egyptian history.
Additionally, you’ll feel like you’ve visited modern-day Egypt, too. You’ll feel like you’ve visited the Temple at Karnac and the Great Sphynx without having to leave Manhattan. Oh, and you even get to visit the afterlife, as you get to travel through the different stages of King Tut’s journey in the underworld.
National Geographic’s Beyond King Tut takes place at Pier 36 on 299 South Street. It is accessible for guests of all abilities. You can use wheelchairs, mobile scooters, canes, etc. The show runs from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM on Sundays through Thursdays (with the last entry at 7:00 PM) and from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM on Fridays and Saturdays (with the last entry at 8:00 PM).
