June is Pride Month, which is a great month celebrating inclusivity and the LGBTQIA+ community. And this is important to Austin FC, who has strived since the beginning to build a Football Club that is inclusive and welcoming for all fans and players.
They got started earlier this month with their Y’all Means All Cup Presented By Lexus. It was a 7v7 round-robin soccer tournament that took place at The Crossover in Leander, Texas. Austin FC and Lexus donated the proceeds from team entry fees to an Austin LGBTQIA+ nonprofit that was chosen in collaboration with the winning team.
Austin FC also have used June to facilitate training for thirty local youth soccer coaches to complete Out Youth’s “Be a Beacon” Training. Be A Beacon is a 90-minute, self-paced professional development training from Out Youth’s Texas Genders & Sexualities Alliance network. It provides adults who work with schools, sports programs, and other youth-focused organizations across Texas with the knowledge and tools needed to best serve the youth of all sexual orientations.
And now is your time to help your favorite football club celebrate Pride Month. Because the Austin FC Pride Night is coming up! It takes place during their match against FC Dallas. This soccer match takes place on Saturday, Jun 25, 2022, at 8:00 PM.
The First Team will wear Pride training tops during warm-ups and jerseys with Pride numbers during the match. Those training tops and jerseys will be auctioned later with proceeds benefiting local LGBTQIA+ nonprofits.
Members of the local Austin area LGBTQIA+ community will lead the Heart Beat of Austin chant pre-match and sing the national anthem. And remember the Y’all Means All Cup I mentioned earlier? The winning team got tickets to this match (courtesy of Lexus) and the team will be honored during halftime.

As with all Austin FC matches, tickets are hard to come by. Tickets are going for as much as $600 per ticket. But you can get them for as low as $114/each by buying a ticket here.
