If you’re spending New Year’s Eve in Orlando, Florida then you’re in a great place, because the city will come alive with tons of fun activities, for children and adults alike!  Here are Green Vacation Deals, we’ve found the 20 best New Year’s Eve activities, and you’re sure to find something on your list that gets you excited to ring in 2020!

1. Universal Studios Florida

The Music Plaza Stage & the Central Park areas of Universal Studios Florida will be transformed into party zones.  You’ll be able to enjoy live music, appearances by your favorite Universal characters and the Universal Orlando’s Cinematic Celebration which has amazing pyrotechnic displays & a shower of confetti at midnight.  And this is included in admission to Universal Orlando, which you can buy at a discount through Best of Orlando.

2. Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World

Dance your way into 2019 at one of the dance parties at Frontierland & Tomorrowland, which last from 7:00 PM to midnight.  You can also enjoy the Fantasy in the Sky Fireworks at 6:30 PM and 11:50 PM.   You can buy discounted Disney World tickets here.

4. Celebrations Around the World Showcase at EPCOT at Walt Disney World

As the clock strikes midnight in each nation around the World Pavilion, listen out for an announcement & look to the sky for a burst of fireworks!  There are also themed events around the World Showcase, plus live music at America Gardens Theatre. And if you want a great way to roll in the New Year East Coast USA time, enjoy Illuminations: Reflections of Earth at 11:40 PM followed by a countdown to midnight & a New Year’s Eve display.  You can buy discounted Walt Disney World tickets here.

5. SeaWorld

You can enjoy a wonderful musical celebration and fireworks display if you head to the park on New Year’s Eve – and you can save up to $50 on tickets by booking online in advance.

6. LEGOLAND Florida

If you have children (especially young children), then you might want to check out the Kids New Years Party at LEGOLAND Florida.  As the title implies, it is very kid-centric and the fireworks are actually at 7:00 PM which is great if you want to get your kids in bed at a certain time.

7. Mezzanotte at Topolino’s: An Italian Masquerade at Disney’s Riviera Resort

How special would it be to spend New Year’s Eve at Disney’s newest DVC Resort, the Riviera Resort?  It would be even more special at an Italian Masquerade!  Seriously, you get to dress up in costume and celebrate the special day in the most special way!  This Masquerade ball includes a DJ, live vocalists from the Italian Riviera and traditional musicians.  There’s also á la carte tapas-style dishes and stations where you can watch your food being prepared.  And even if you’re not a DVC member, you can stay at Disney’s Riviera Resort by booking through David’s Vacation Rentals.  Just watch this video to find out how to do it:

8. The Feliz Ano Nuevo: A New Year’s Eve Party at Coronado Springs Resort

Another great Disney hotel to spend New Year’s Eve would be Coronado Springs (you can get a good rate for this hotel here).  There’s a going to be a great rooftop party on the top of the brand new Gran Destino Tower at Coronado Springs.  This will take place at Tolédo – Tapas, Steak & Seafood, the new rooftop restaurant.  You can enjoy traditional Spanish New Year’s cuisine.  Party along to the sounds of a flamenco guitarist and the DJ in the Dalhia Lounge.  When the clock strikes midnight, you can enjoy New Year’s Eve fireworks from the windows of the restaurant & the Dalhia Lounge balcony.

9. Loews Royal Pacific Resort

A great place to spend New Year’s Eve is at Loews Royal Pacific Resort, where you can enjoy a variety of fun New Year’s Eve festivities, like the Wantilan New Year’s Eve Luau, the New Year’s Eve Buffet, the New Year’s Eve Dessert Buffet and even a New Year’s Day breakfast buffet.

10. New Year’s Eve at Loews Sapphire Falls Resort

Loews Sapphire Falls Resort has multiple New Year’s activities at their resort, which include a New Year’s Eve Celebration, a New Year’s Eve Buffet, and a New Year’s Day Breakfast Buffet

11. New Year’s Eve Party on the Piazza at Loews Portofino Bay

Ring in the New Year at Harbor Piazza at Loew’s Portofino Bay,  where you can enjoy a DJ, dancing and sparkling wine toast. There’s also stuff to do here for kids, including a balloonist, face painter and kids crafts & activities table.  You should consider staying at Loews Portofino Bay for a quick walk home, and you could see a video of Portofino Bay during the holiday season here (spoiler alert: it’s beautiful!):

12. Cabana Bay’s New Year’s Eve Party Spectacular

This New Year’s Party is for guest only at Universal’s Cabana Bay (see our review here) and is held at the hotel’s Bayliner Diner.   The party lasts from 8:00 PM to 12:30 AM and includes balloon artists, a carving dining special and a midnight balloon special.  Cabana Bay really is decorated beautifully for the holidays, too.  You can see a video from our time at Cabana Bay during the holidays here:

13. Countdown to Midnight: A New Year’s Celebration at Disney’s Contemporary Resort

14. Pixar Party: A New Year’s Celebration at Disney’s Contemporary Resort

At this party, you won’t only be celebrating the new year, but your favorite Pixar characters and movies, too!  You’ll get to see your favorite characters and enjoy an interactive DJ.  The dishes are even inspired by Pixar, too.  Some of the dishes include Ratatouille (of course!), white cheddar baked mac and cheese, crème brûlée tarts, slow-roasted beef tenderloin, and more.  Once again, save money at a stay at Contemporary by clicking here.

15. Elegant Evening Under the Stars at California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort

Disney’s Contemporary Resort really is the hotel to be at during New Year’s Eve, huh?  So you’ll definitely want to check out our Contemporary money-saving hacks here!  But anyway, the best thing about dinner here on New Year’s Eve is you’ll get a great views of the New Year’s Eve fireworks at Magic Kingdom!  But that’s not the only reason to enjoy Elegant Evening Under the Stars at California Grill this New Year’s Eve.  There’s also special entertainment, including a magician and an artist drawing portraits.

16. New Year’s Eve in Urban Pantry

Enjoy a New Year’s Eve Party at Bar 17 Bistro with a live DJ at Universal’s Aventura Hotel.

17. New Year’s Eve Splash Bash!

A wonderful, family-friendly way to ring in the New Year would be the New Year’s Eve Splash Bash held at the Holiday Inn Resort Orlando Suites starting at 7:00 PM.  A ticket to this event gets you party favors, champagne & kid’s punch toast, 20% off foods & drinks sold at the hotel’s MarketPlace, free parking and unlimited access to the 4D Theater, which has the Orlando exclusive showing of The Polar Express 4D & Laser Maze.  And this event is incredibly affordable – and free if you’re a guest of Holiday Inn Resort Orlando Suites

18. New Year’s Eve Bash at Atlantic Dance Hall at Disney’s BoardWalk

The over 21 crowd can enjoy a great party at Atlantic Dance Hall at the Boardwalk, which includes beverage vouchers, music, party hats, horns, a champagne toast plus great views of the fireworks at EPCOT.  Consider staying at the Boardwalk so you have a quick walk home after the partying, we go into detail here about how great Disney’s Boardwalk is for a hotel stay.

19. New Year’s Eve Dinner at the Flying Fish at Disney’s BoardWalk

Enjoy a multi-course, prix fixe menu inspired by Chef Tim Majoras at the Flying Fish restaurant at Disney’s Boardwalk.  Seating is available from 5:00 to 6:30 PM and 8:30 to 10:00 PM on Dec. 31. 20. The Edison at Disney Springs

Enjoy a special ticket event to a New Year’s Eve Gala at the Edison at Disney Springs, known for its great nightlife entertainment and beautiful views of Lake Buena Vista.  Admission includes food and a wide array of wine, beer and spirit options from 7:30 PM until midnight.
