Celebrate the famous maritime traditions of Chesapeake Bay during Maryland Fleet Week. This is a free biennial event that happens in Baltimore. It began yesterday and will run through September 13, 2022.
This week long celebration is about fleet, flights and festivities. Fleet Week features public tours of over ten U.S., Canadian and British vessels in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, Fells Point and Locust Point. These ships will be welcoming visitors aboard from 1 pm to 6 pm during Fleet Week. Shuttle buses will run from the Inner Harbor to Locust Point this week.
Over 300,000 attendees join in the celebration every other year. Entertainment and festivities await visitors in the Maryland Science Center and the National Aquarium in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor.
The USAF Thunderbirds’ jets highlight the aerial show on the Martin State Airport tarmac. There will be an Open House at the airport this week. It will feature interactive exhibits, ground displays, historic planes, food and live entertainment.
