Antone’s Nightclub and Waterloo Greenway are hosting the inaugural Austin Blues Festival at Moody Amphitheater at Waterloo Park. This will be happening on April 29, 2023, at 12 pm.
They have assembled an incredible array of national talent. The performers include
Los Lobos
Los Lobos is a rock band from East Los Angeles influenced by country, zydeco, folk, RnB and blues. Winners of four Grammys, their biggest hit was La Bamba. In January, they kicked off their 50th anniversary year!
Booker T’s Stax Revue
Booker T. Jones is the Booker T in the Booker T & the MGs fame. Booker T is currently touring with his new band.
Robert Randolph & the Family Band
Robert Randolph & the Family Band is a gospel and blues/soul band. It is led by pedal steel guitarist Randolph who made Rolling Stone’s list of the 100 greatest guitarists.
BLK ODYSSY
BLK ODYSSY has become one of the best performing bands in Central Texas with its soul crooner, Sam Houston. Hear work from their latest album, BLK Vintage.
The Glorifying Vines Sisters
The Glorifying Vines Sisters are Audrey Vines, Alice Vines, Mattie Vines Harper and Dorothy Vines Daniels. They are musical matriarchs of Eastern North Carolina. The Vines sisters’ music is steeped in the traditions of quartet gospel. Their music will lift you up in spirit.
C.J. Chenier
C.J. Chenier is Creole music royalty. His father invented Zydeco. C.J. delivers soulful vocals along with accordion driven Blues, Rock and Zydeco.
The Rebirth Brass Band
The Rebirth Brass Band is a New Orleans brass band. The group was founded in the 1980s by Phillip “Tuba Phil” Frazier, his brother Keith and classmates from their New Orleans high school. They have gone from playing the streets of the Big Easy to playing shows and festivals all over the world.
More Performers
Other performers at the Blues Festival will include Adrian Quesada’s Jaguar Sound, DJ Requiqui and DJ Mahealani plus Special Guests Jimmie Vaughan and Jackie Vinson.
