For over five decades, the Doobie Brothers have been entertaining us. Their roots based, harmony laden, guitar driven rock ‘n roll resulted in all their hits, enthusiastic fans and induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
The Doobie Brothers came out of Northern California when drummer John Hartman met Tom Johnston, a local singer/songwriter/guitarist. They began playing local bars in the Bay Area. The two were soon joined by singer/guitarist Pat Simmons.
Their self titled first album didn’t chart but in 1972 “Toulouse Street” became a breakout sensation. From there, the Doobie Brothers began touring. Along the way, they were joined by Bill Payne, Jeff “Skunk” Baxter, Michael McDonald and John McFee.

The Doobie Brothers have won 4 Grammy Awards and sold more than 48 million records worldwide. They have 3 multi-platinum, seven platinum and 14 gold albums. Their 1976 “Best of the Doobies” has sold more than 12 million copies which earned it the rare RIAA Diamond status. They have had 5 Top 10 singles and 16 Top 40 hits.
