Medieval Times Baltimore

Have you ever been to a Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament?  It is North America’s most popular & longest running dinner attraction.  And there is a great Medieval Times dinner show in Hanover, Maryland, which is in the Baltimore/Washington, D.C. area.  This is a family-friendly event that all ages can enjoy.  And it is a truly immersive experience.

The Castle

You’ll see that from the second you enter Medieval Times.  It takes place in a complex that is designed to feel like an 11th-century European castle.  You first enter into the Hall of Arms.  That’s where you see a great display of medieval artifacts.  This includes medieval weaponry and coats of arms.  You’ll definitely want to check out the Museum of Torture.  That’s where you get to see reproductions of Middle Ages-era torture instruments.

You’ll know it’s time to head to your seats in the arena when royal trumpeters blast their horns to announce the call of the feast.  You’ll notice all the staff and crew will be decked out in authentic 11th-century costumes.  And you’ll see King Phillipe and Princess Leonore.  They greet you after you’ve gotten into the arena.  They invite you to share in a regal banquet.

Knights of the Realm

And that’s when the action really begins.  There are six Knights of the Realm.  They represent six authentic regions of Medieval Spain.  Each section of the arena is divided by six color zones of seating (red, green, blue, yellow, black & white, and red & yellow).  That’s how you know which knight you’ll be cheering for!

The knights compete in games of skill.  This includes the ring pierce, javelin throw, and flag toss.  You also get to cheer your knight on as they compete in authentic jousting matches and dangerous sword fights.   All of this takes place within a storyline involving a brave prince being captured.  It really is more than just dinner at this dinner show.

Food

But as for the food, you’ll get a 4-course meal and beverages.  Your meal includes garlic bread, tomato bisque soup, spare rib, roasted chicken, herb-basted potato, a pastry and a round of 2 beverages.  The food is presented to you in a true medieval, pre-silverware fashion.

But here’s the best part.  There is also a full-service cash bar.  So you’re going to want to head there.
