If you get in a time machine and travel to any time, you very well might want to go to Middle Ages. But unfortunately, there is no machine – yet, anyway.
But if you live in Dallas, Texas, or are planning to travel to Dallas, you do have a way of feeling like you’ve traveled back to the Middle Ages. And that is by visiting Medieval Times!
Perhaps you’ve already visited Medieval Times before. It is, after all, America’s longest-running dinner attraction. But whether it is your first time or one-hundredth time, you are bound to enjoy yourself. Medieval Times is a great way to take a dining experience to the next level by allowing yourself to escape into another time and era.
Before The Show
First and foremost, Medieval Times is about entertainment. You should arrive about an hour before the show begins so you can enjoy all the activities before the performance. You can explore their European-style castle. This includes the suits of armor in Her Majesty’s Hall. And don’t forget to check out the Torture Museum! Yes, you read that right!
Additionally, by getting there early, you can enjoy a pre-show knighting ceremony. You can even meet the horses and falcon that are part of the show!
The Show
And then, of course, during your meal, you are treated to an amazing show. It is actually based upon authentic Medieval history. It is based on the true story of a noble family with documentation dating back to the 11th Century.
The show involves six knights competing in games of skill while riding beautiful Andalusian stallions. They’ll joust and compete in hand-to-hand combat.
Each section is assigned a knight. So you get to cheer on your knight to victory!
The Meal
But it’s not just a show. Included in your admission is a great meal! It’s not just any meal, either. It is a four-course meal. You are treated to food like:
- Garlic bread
- Tomato bisque soup
- Roasted chicken
- Sweet buttered corn
- Herb-basted potatoes
- Dessert
- Coffee
- Two rounds of select beverages
Vegetarian meals are available upon request.
Cocktail servers also make the round and you can enjoy drinks at an additional price.
Also, please note that in keeping with the theme, silverware is not passed out! You can, however, get it upon request.
