I was in Williamsburg for Christmas Town at Busch Gardens and had a free morning.  I decided to go window shopping in downtown Williamsburg. The area is beautiful and made even lovelier by the wreaths, garlands and lights.

Window shopping was fun.  I enjoyed seeing the beautiful decorations and the expensive “goodies” they were promoting.  Each window seemed lovelier than the last.

Next, I walked into Colonial Williamsburg.  No twinkling lights there. I really enjoyed seeing the wreaths.  They were replicas of what you would have seen in Williamsburg centuries ago, using materials the colonists would have used.  Very creative, different and beautiful. And the garland here is the real deal, not artificial.

I had a lot of fun and it cost me nothing.  I parked behind the William & Mary bookstore in a lot that offers free parking for the first two hours.  Just walking around Colonial Williamsburg costs nothing. You need a ticket to get into the Governors Mansion, the Capitol and other buildings.  I would definitely recommend that you purchase a ticket because Williamsburg is a very special one-of-a-kind place that everyone should see.
