Zoo Atlanta
Zoo Atlanta houses over 1,000 animals and 220 different species and a range of activities and rides for kids. It is located in historic Grant Park, just minutes from downtown Atlanta.

Zoo Atlanta Illuminights
At 5 pm, Zoo Atlanta will close for the day. And at 5:30 pm, IllumiNights will open up and will go until 9:30 pm. IllumiNights is a separate ticketed event. Atlanta’s beloved yuletide spectacle returns with the Chinese lanterns casting a glow upon the wildlife.
Enjoy taking an after dark walk, marveling at the twinkling lights and the colorful lanterns. The zoo will be transformed into a winter wonderland. You’ll see more than one hundred intricately designed Chinese lanterns, including ones shaped like leopards and a blazing phoenix. The lanterns truly are a beautiful sight to behold. Take some instagram worthy photos of this colorful scene.
Warm up after your walk a cup of hot cocoa or a festive adult beverage for those 21 and older. You can also enjoy roasting marshmallows over an open fire.
