Saturday, November 11, 2023, is Veteran’s Day. It is a federal holiday to honor the men and women who have served in our armed forces.
Las Vegas does holidays up right and Veterans Day is no exception. The city is honoring veterans by putting on the largest Veterans Day parade west of the Mississippi River. It is second only to New York City’s parade. The festivities begin with an Air Force flyover at 10 am. And then the parade begins at 4th Street and Garces Avenue.
You can expect to see Veterans Groups, Active Duty Military, Reserve Units, Nevada National Guard Units, ROTC and JROTC marching in the parade. You’ll see marching bands, dance teams, Scout groups, car clubs, motorcycle clubs and much more.
Following the parade, the Nevada Department of Veterans Service will host a Veterans Day Ceremony at the Nevada State Veterans Memorial in downtown Las Vegas.
