After a hiatus caused by the pandemic, Cider Swig is back! Cider Swag is Washington’s largest single-day cider-centered festival.
The Greater Peninsula Cider Festival is a great celebration of local cider and food. Over thirty Northwest cidermakers will present over 130 ciders for sampling. Other select local-related libationistas (like mead, beer, wine, and spirits) will also share their creations. You can sample and find new favorite flavors. And then you can take them home by shopping at the Swig’s Bottle Shop.
And as great as all that sounds, Cider Swig Gig Harbor goes beyond just cider tastings. Cider Swig also highlights the region’s agricultural heritage. They promote local businesses and agricultural & environmental organizations. You can get award-winning curbside cuisine from local food trucks.
Cider Swig has live music. There are also contests, competitions, and games at Cider Swig. There’s even a Cider Swig Midway. Some of these contests and games include:
- Apple Pie Contest
- Hammerschlagen
- Apfelweinkrug (cider-stein) holding
- Keg toss
- Cornhole Pit
Cider Swig in Gig Harbor takes place on Saturday, September 23, 2023. It takes place at America’s Car Museum field in Tacoma, Washington. It lasts from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The gates open at 11:30 AM and close at 4:30 PM.
Proceeds from the festival help support environmental education, restoration, and conservation efforts across the KGI Watershed. This encompasses Washington’s greater Gig Harbor and Key peninsulas.
