This holiday season, a special event is coming to the Fresno Chaffee Zoo in Fresno, California. That event is IllumiNature!
The key feature of IllumiNature is the handmade Chinese lantern displays that will be lit up throughout the Zoo. These Chinese lanterns will be designed into (what else?) animals! Very fitting for the Fresno Chaffee Zoo, don’t you think? They will be a beautiful sight to see.
But that’s not the only thing going on at IllumiNature. You’ll find specially themed areas throughout the zoo. They’ll be themed to Christmas, the Lunar New Year, and nature. There’s also holiday-inspired food and drinks. You can watch live entertainment.

And it won’t just be Santa there, too. Santa’s bringing his reindeer! The reindeer will be there until January 1st. Santa will be there until December 25th.
This event is available on the following dates:

- December 1-4, 8, 10-11, 14-23, 26-30
- January 5-8, 13-15, 21-22
There is also a special IllumiNature 21+ event that takes place on December 9th, 2022. As you may have gathered from the name, this event is just for adults ages 21 years old and older. You’ll be able to enjoy all the things that make IllumiNature great, like the Chinese lanterns, specialty Christmas & Lunar New Year areas, live entertainment, etc. But you’ll also get unlimited tastings from different breweries and wineries! There are also additional drinks available for purchase. So it should make for a fun night.
