The Los Angeles County Fair began in 1922 so it has been entertaining guests for 100 years.  Unfortunately, there was no LA County Fair for the past two years.  But it is back this year, and there is still time to attend.

And this is an LA County Fair you don’t want to miss.  Not only will you want to go just to appreciate the fact that we can attend again, which honestly is a great reason.  But you’re going to want to go because of all of the fun things you can do at the LA County Fair!

This year, the LA County Fair made an effort to go “back to their roots”.  They wanted to celebrate nostalgia given the 100-year anniversary.  And they wanted to celebrate a simpler way of enjoying life.  This was at the heart of the first LA County Fair which took place in a beet and barley field in the heart of Pomona.

Attractions

They have a lot of great attractions planned for this year’s fair.

Ray Cammack Shows

Ray Cammack Shows is back at the LA County Fair for its 36th year.  They’ll bring more than 60 carnival rides, 30 games, and kiddie carnival areas.  All of the things you think of when you think of a county fair!

eSports Gaming World

EGW is a gaming and esports convention returning for its fourth year to LACF.  Here you can find dozens of PC and console gaming stations.  There’s also a professional competition stage complete with Twitch livestreaming.  EGW also gives you the opportunity to participate in fun events and tournaments.  You even get a chance to get on stage!  Additionally, you can find virtual reality setups, gaming vendors, and fun photo-ops the whole family can enjoy at EGW.

Haunt Supershow

The Haunt Supershow is back for its third year at LACF!  And this year, they have an appropriate “100 Years of Horror” exhibit.  Their popular social media photo-op attraction, Museum of Monsters, is back this year, too.  And you can enjoy a huge professionally designed haunt maze with live actors!  And if that’s not enough, they also have huge inflatables, unique horror and pop culture retail vendors, and horror-themed games.

Flower & Garden Pavilion

The Flower & Garden Pavilion has a Cheers to 100 Years celebration.  You can take a look at the Fair’s history, but you do it through flowers.  So you can see things like a floral Clock Tower and murals of the most popular flowers for each decade.

Lost Levels Arcade

The classic arcade at LACF is back this year!  You can feel like you’ve stepped back into 1988 at the peak of the arcade era.  There are over 50 restored classic Video Game Cabinets and Pinball.  There are also video games and video gaming consoles from retro to modern.  And you can even purchase awesome video gaming novelty items!

The Farm at Fairplex

Big Red Barn is back, which means the beloved petting zoo is once again at the LA County Fair!  You will love seeing the farm animals again.

The Future Farmers of America (FFA) will have a bigger presence here this year, too.  There will be student competitions in the eastern barns.  There will also be Master Gardeners in the barns opposite the Big Red Barn and they’ll host regular workshops.  The Kickin’ Country Stage will be here in a section near the Carnation Barn.

The Culture of the Low and the Slow

The Culture of the Low and the Slow is a lowrider lifestyle exhibit.  You can see some of Los Angeles’s most beautifully engineered vehicles, Art on Wheels.

Home Arts & Culinary Kitchen

LACF has contests going in both culinary and home arts categories.  There are also new youth divisions.  So come to the Home Arts building under the Grand Stand so you can see all the great work!

Millard Sheet Arts Center

Here you can work your way through 100 years as the LA County Fair has turned the gallery into a museum of LACF’s history.  The entry hall has a tribute to the Los Angeles County Fair Association and LACF founders.  Artists also have created pieces depicting the Los Angeles County Fair’s history.  On the patio, LionLike MindState hosts art and poetry nights on Friday and Saturday.

America’s Great Outdoors

For more than 25 years LACF has partnered with US Forestry, the Bureau of Land Management, and LA County Fire Forest Division to educate our guests on fire safety and the beauty of our local forests.  America’s Great Outdoors returns to its hillside location.  There are animal exhibits and forestry education here.  You can learn about things like hiking in the local mountains and the national parks.  US Forestry’s Tree Circus has a performance on stage in the center of the Hill.  It features professional tree climbers!

Schools’ Agricultural and Nutrition Fair

The L.A. County Fair partnered with the 48th District Agricultural Association to present the Schools’ Agricultural and Nutrition Fair.  It is a salute to Los Angeles County agriculture. You can see entries from schools throughout the county that feature nutrition and agriculture.

Shopping at the Fair

There are three expo halls and a ton of outdoor locations for shopping, so if you love shopping, you’ll love this fair.  The Outdoor Marketplace has been expanded this year.  And Handmade LA is returning to Redwood Street on the weekends.

Food & Drinks

Fan-favorite food and drink vendors are returning this year, like Chicken Charlie’s and MacPherson’s Ice Cream, which has the distinction of being at LACF for all one hundred years!
