Have you ever been to the longest-running and top-rated attraction in the United States of America?  Did you know that attraction is Medieval Times?

Medieval Times is a very unique attraction.  It is a place where you can watch live jousting while you eat dinner.  There is really nothing quite like it.

And you can enjoy it in Southern California.  Medieval Times has a location on 7662 Beach Blvd. in Buena Park, California.  It is just seven miles away from Disneyland and near other top Southern California attractions like Knott’s Berry Farm and Pirate’s Dinner Adventure.

The Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament takes place in a European-style castle.  The Southern California location is the only one that has an outdoor courtyard.  If you arrive too early, you can hang out there until you’re allowed in.

Because the gates open sixty minutes prior to the show.  This gives you a lot of time to explore the castle and get lots of photos.  You can take in all the beautiful sights of the castle, like the suits of armor and the huge candelabras that hang from the ceiling.  Oh, and don’t miss the medieval artifacts and medieval torture museum!

Eventually, though, the Master of Ceremonies will announce the Call to Table.  And then you can enter the Grand Ceremonial Arena.

And that is great because the main reason you are here is for the show.  The show lasts about two hours.  And it is an incredible show.

During the show you will see:

  • exciting swordplay
  • Andalusian stallions
  • medieval-inspired musical score
  • incredible special effects

While you watch the show, you’ll get to enjoy a four-course medieval-style meal.  Just remember, no silverware is allowed while you eat!
