At the end of September/beginning of October is a very special weekend for San Diego, California. That is when the San Diego Padres hold their Hispanic Heritage Weekend Celebration!
This year, the Padres Hispanic Heritage Weekend takes place at Petco Park from Friday, September 22, 2023, through Sunday, September 24, 2023. It is presented by Blue Shield of California.
The festivities begin on Friday with Fiesta in the Park. This is presented by Verizon. That is when fans can head to Gallagher Square for a pregame happy hour. It begins when the gates open. Guests can enjoy $5 drink specials and thematic music.
This year, they’ve added something fun for Saturday night. There will be postgame fireworks show, presented by Northgate Market. T his show is set to music by Bad Bunny, J Balvin, and other Latin artists.
The event ends on Sunday. That is where you can enjoy a postgame concert by Los Tucanes de Tijuana. They are a Mexican norteño band that was founded in 1987 in Tijuana, Baja California. They are led by the talented Mario Quintero Lara. You will need the special ticket package to see this concert, by the way.
And then of course there’s baseball on this special weekend! The St. Louis Cardinals are in town. Their games will take place on the following dates and times:
- Friday, September 22, 2023, at 6:40 PM
- Saturday, September 23, 2023, at 5:40 PM
- Sunday, September 24, 2023, at 1:10 PM
