Sacramento, California is a wonderful city to visit or live in any time of the year. But the city really comes alive when St. Patrick’s Day rolls around. There are a lot of great events and activities going on throughout Sacramento to celebrate this special Irish holiday. Today, I want to go over five of the best.
1. St. Patrick’s Day Parade & Festival
You’ll find one of the most iconic ways to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at the Old Sacramento Waterfront. That is where you’ll find Sacramento’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade & Festival. It features not just a parade but live musical entertainment and outdoor beer gardens, too. You can even look for Leprechauns hiding throughout Sacramento’s historic district.
All of this will take place this year on Saturday March 16th, 2024. The festival runs from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The parade runs from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. You can find out more information about the St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival here.
2. Kiss Me, I’m Irish! St. Patrick’s Day Bar Crawl
So the last event I told you about was very family-friendly. But here’s an event that’s fun for just us adults. And that is the Kiss Me, I’m Irish! Sacramento St. Patrick’s Day Bar Crawl. This is a 2-day bar crawl that takes place during St. Patrick’s Day weekend. It is a great way to experience the best of the serious St. Patrick’s Day partying that takes place in Sacramento.
A ticket to this bar crawl gets you drink specials and entry with no cover charges into top Sacramento bars and pubs like:
- Honey & The Trap Cat
- Tipsy Putt
- Last Stop Saloon
- Bear Dive
- MidiCi Pizza on 728 K Street
- Sean Finnegan’s Pub
- Vine+Grain
- Streets Pub and Grub
You can purchase a ticket for the pub crawl here.
3. Sacramento St. Patrick’s Day Alive After Five Cruise
Here’s another event for just us adults (more specifically, those 21 years old and older). It is a St. Patrick’s Day-themed one-and-a-half-hour cruise around the Sacramento River. There’s a full bar available where you can purchase wine, beer, and creative cocktails including a St. Patrick’s Day cocktail as well as small bites. A live DJ is there for entertainment. It’s a casual attire event where wearing green is encouraged. It takes place from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM.
You can book a ticket to the Sacramento St. Patrick’s Day Alive After Five Cruise here.
4. Sacramento St. Patrick’s Day Sights & Sips Cruise
Here’s another fun cruise you can enjoy on St. Patrick’s Day in Sacramento. This cruise just takes place earlier in the day, from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM. So you should get beautiful brighter views of the Sacramento River.
But you’ll also get some of the same features of the last cruise I told you about, including the full bar and live DJ. The cruise will be decorated for St. Patrick’s Day. It should be a lot of fun. You can book the St. Patrick’s Day Sights and Sips Cruise here.
5. Stoney’s St. Patty’s Day Bash
Stoney’s Rockin’ Rodeo has a great St. Patrick’s Day event on Saturday, March 16th from 5:00 PM to 1:30 AM. It’s a 21 years old and older event.
There are $14 St. Patty’s dinner specials available. You can choose between Corned Beef and Cabbage, Corned Beef Quesadilla, or Reuben and Fries. There’s also a $10 Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner available from 5:00 to 6:00 PM. Then there is special late-night food available later than night for free!
Drinks are obviously also available, too, which you probably figured from the fact this is a 21 years old and older event. But even better than just getting drinks is that drink specials are available. $5 Green Coors Light is available all night. Then from 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM, you can get $5 Jameson & $6 Irish Car Bomb.
You can enjoy country dancing with DJ Patrick starting at 8:00 PM until closing time. There are also free line dance lessons by Kat at 7:00 PM.
There’s a $7 cover charge. You can find out more about Stoney’s Rockin’ Rodeo here.
