Lights of Joy is a popular, family-friendly annual Christmas lights drive-thru experience in Branson, Missouri. You can find this holiday event at the Shepherd of the Hills Expressway and Expressway Lane intersection. How it works is you drive through a path of over a mile. You look out the window, and you’ll see holiday lights creating gorgeous holiday scenes on both sides of the road.
And a neat thing about this experience is that every year, there are new scenes. But (spoiler alert!) you get to enjoy traditional scenes like a Nativity Scene and the Twelve Days of Christmas. But there are new ones each year that keep it interesting. For example, one year, there was a Christmas in Outer Space scene.
These displays are fun for kids and adults – which makes it the perfect Christmas family vacation idea. The whole ride takes around 20 to 30 minutes. If you visit on the weekend, you can get a picture with Santa Claus (and sometimes Mrs. Claus).
This experience is open from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM every night. Christmas get started early in a top holiday travel destination like Branson, so it’s already started.
