Rick Shuler has emerged as the leading tribute performer of John Denver’s music. Even Denver’s own bandmates are singing his praises.
When he’s not playing music, Shuler is part of a team of international and interfaith archeologists who just discovered the twelfth Dead Sea Scrolls Cave. He says each member of the team is united in wanting to find more Dead Sea Scrolls. And the music of John Denver has become a muse for the mission. Shuler says the longing for home, love and for God through nature are themes found in the scrolls and in Denver’s songs.
Shuler says if he starts to play “Rocky Mountain” or “Country Roads,” everyone joins in, no matter where he is. People sing along with him to these beautiful songs of love and healing. Regardless of their native language, they sing along in English.
Despite his death two decades ago, John Denver’s music continues to touch the world, with more than one hundred million views of Denver’s videos on YouTube. So, come and enjoy the Christmas favorites and John Denver’s beautiful music once again.
