Ready to celebrate the Season of the Force? This special event, held at Disneyland in Southern California, will take place March 28 through May 11. During the Season of the Force, you can enjoy special offerings like:

  • Entertainment
  • Rides
  • Merchandise
  • Food

And in this guide to the Season of the Force, we’ll go over all of that! Plus, we’ll share how to save money on Disneyland tickets (since you’ll need a park ticket to attend this fun event).

Entertainment

Shadows of Memory: A Skywalker Saga

“Shadows of Memory: A Skywalker Saga” is a brand new nightly projection show in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland park. It incorporates the iconic film score with impressive projection effects on the spires of Batuu (near the Millennium Falcon).

A New Visitor

A shadowy special guest will be appearing on Batuu for a limited time. And rumor has it that the special visitor may be Luke Skywalker himself! Plus, guests may also see the return of R2-D2 to Galaxy’s Edge.

Fire of the Rising Moons

While this isn’t a new experience, this returning nighttime celebration incorporates music by John Williams from the Star Wars movies with a different view of the Disneyland fireworks. If you want to enjoy “Fire of the Rising Moons,” viewing areas in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge include:

  • the Black Spire Spaceport
  • the speeder garage
  • the TIE Echelon docking platform

And if you have a MagicBand+, you’ll see it light up and feel it vibrate during the experience. (We previously discussed whether or not a MagicBand+ is worth it.)

Rides

Hyperspace Mountain

So technically, there isn’t really a new ride for Seasons of the Force. But it is an opportunity to ride Hyperspace Mountain! You see, Hyperspace Mountain is Space Mountain, but with a special Star Wars-themed overlay. It’s the fun of the roller coaster, but set within an epic combat scene right from the movies. And you can only ride Hyperspace Mountain for a limited time, as it turns back into Space Mountain for part of the year.

This ride is found in Tomorrowland in Disneyland Park.

Other Star Wars Attractions

And while these attractions are available year round (subject to closures), you’ll still want to ride these Star Wars rides:

  • Star Tours – The Adventures Continue
    • Located in Tomorrowland
    • Experience one of 250+ Storyline Variations, including scenes from Disney+ shows like The Mandalorian, Andor, and Ahsoka
  • Millennium Falcon
    • Located in Galaxy’s Edge
    • Take part in an exciting interactive smuggling mission
  • Stars Wars: Rise of the Resistance
    • Located in Galaxy’s Edge
    • A unique attraction with multiple ride systems

Merchandise

What’s a Disney event without special merchandise? Over 50 new merch items will debut during the event! Some of those new releases include:

  • Create Your Own Headbands
    • With Star Wars plushes:
      • Darth Vader
      • an Ewok
      • Yoda
      • R2-D2
      • a stormtrooper
    • Available at:
      • The Mad Hatter in Fantasyland (Disneyland)
      • The Star Trader in Tomorrowland (Disneyland)
      • World of Disney (Downtown Disney)
      • Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff in Pixar Pier (Disney California Adventure Park)
  • A Hyperspace Mountain t-shirt
    • Available at:
      • The Star Trader
      • Spaceport in Tomorrowland (Disneyland)
      • Emporium on Main Street, U.S.A. (Disneyland)
  • A retro collection created in collaboration with Her Universe by Ashley Eckstein
    • Available at:
      • The Star Trader, with 1-week exclusivity
      • Star Wars Trading Post, starting after 1 week (Downtown Disney)

Also, there’s an all-new storyline, “Reclaimed and Reforged,” at Savi’s Workshop – Handbuilt Lightsabers in Galaxy’s Edge. You can make your own lightsaber using scraps that pirates across the galaxy have scavenged.

Please note that for the lightsaber, purchase is required and advanced reservations are highly recommended. The cost is $219.99 (plus tax) per lightsaber. Credit card information is required at the time of the reservation. If you do not cancel at least one day prior to your reservation, you will be charged the full price per builder.

Food

One of my favorite parts of the special events at the Disney parks is the fun food and drinks menu. And for Season of the Force, the specialty offerings include:

  • Sweet Treats
    • Wookiee Cookie – Grand Californian Great Hall Cart (Grand Californian Hotel)
  • Savory Items
    • Fried Chicken Baos – Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo (Galaxy’s Edge)
  • Beverages
    • Toydaria Swirl (green milk with mango jellies and chile-lime seasoning) – Milk Stand (Galaxy’s Edge)

These are just a few examples of what you can expect to enjoy during Season of the Force. Once Disneyland releases the full menu, we’ll let you know. For now, you can take a look at the Season of the Force menu from last year to get more of an idea of what to expect.

And if you like collecting popcorn buckets and drink mugs like I do, you won’t want to miss out on the Droid Parts Premium Vessel popcorn bucket, which is already available at Kat Saka’s Kettle in Galaxy’s Edge while supplies last. It comes with butter popcorn with Crait Red Salt.

Plus, there’s a Darth Vader Premium Mug that is currently available at Galactic Grill in Tomorrowland while supplies last. The mug includes a choice of beverage (soda, DASANI bottled water, hot chocolate, coffee or hot tea) with purchase.

Discount Disneyland Tickets

In order to experience the Season of the Force, you’ll need park admission. Luckily, we’ve put together a list of 10 ways to save money on your Disneyland trip. This includes not only how to get cheaper tickets, but also how to save on your hotel stay, flight and more.
