Looking for a good, affordable hotel in St. Augustine, Florida?  Well, I think I found a great one in Best Western Plus St. Augustine I-95!  It checks off so many boxes in things I would like for a hotel.  Keep reading to find out what it was about the hotel I liked.  We’ll also tell you a few things we didn’t like about the hotel.

Location

First of all, the hotel is in a great location.  It is right across the street from St. Augustine Premium Outlets.  You could literally walk there.  So that is a huge plus if you are like me and you love shopping.

There are also lots of restaurants close to the hotel.  This makes it very convenient when you want something to eat.  Like on the night we arrived, it was already late and we had a game on TV we wanted to watch.  We were able to quickly pick up a meal from Wendy’s and enjoy it in our room.

But it’s also convenient if you want to travel to other St. Augustine attractions.  You can easily drive to St. Augustine’s Historic District or the St. Augustine area beaches from your hotel.

One reason it is convenient to other First Coast attractions it that is as an easy on and off I-95 (as you might have guessed from the name of the hotel).  This not only makes it convenient if you are enjoying a vacation in St. Augustine.  But it’s also good if you want to stay here on the way to or from another location.  Let’s say, for example, you are vacationing in Orlando, Florida.  Maybe you want to enjoy a theme park during the day and then get a headstart on your drive home in the evening.  This hotel would be a great choice as it’s about two hours from Disney World, Universal Orlando, SeaWorld, etc.

Guest Rooms

But location isn’t the only reason to love this hotel.  It’s also a great choice because of the hotel’s wonderful guest rooms.

First of all, there is so much space space in the guest rooms.  We were staying in just a standard guest room with two queen beds.  I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels, but this was one of the most spacious standard rooms I’ve stayed in.

There was just so much room for all of my family’s luggage.  It’s really nice to not feel like you have to stumble over everyone when you walk around the room.

Then there is the TV.  The TV was honestly a reason we chose the hotel.  They have 55-inch TVs in their guest rooms.

As I mentioned earlier, there was a game on we wanted to see and it was great to watch it with a large TV.  It made both the basketball game and the NFL football playoff game we watched later even better.

I also liked the decorations in the rooms.  The room features great artwork of St. Augustine.

It really makes you excited for your stay in St. Augustine.

The room also had a desk with a chair plus another chair, which I liked.

If I had one complaint about the room though is that the pillows were a bit on the smaller size.  The beds, while queen, were also not that large.  But otherwise, the beds were comfortable.

Other Hotel Features

Best Western Plus St. Augustine I-95 has an outdoor pool and a hot tub.

Not every hotel has a hot tub, so I liked that there was a hot tub because that can be quite relaxing during a vacation.

They also have a fitness center.  A very attractive fitness center, too, actually, with beach decor that is fitting for a First Coast hotel.

Another great feature of this hotel is the free breakfast.

They have plenty of seating for the continental breakfast, too.

The continental breakfast features hot and cold breakfast items.  I would say it’d probably be better to arrive to breakfast earlier rather than later because we showed up with about ten minutes to go and a lot of the food had been eaten.  But we still found multiple things we wanted to eat, which is always good.  I really liked the breakfast potatoes.  And of course, any hotel that gives you a continental breakfast really saves you money.

Another way this hotel saves you money is with their market.  The prices are far cheaper than what you normally see these days.  For example, when we went, they had cans of soda for just $1.50.  You can get a soup cup for $3.  It’s really nice that they don’t significantly upcharge you for food and drinks the way other hotels do.

Pricing

And speaking of affordability, the nightly rate for this hotel is very affordable.

You can first check their website, as they have some great deals (like the current stay three nights and get a $100 gift card).
