You’ve probably noticed that we’ve been talking a lot about Beaufort, South Carolina recently. This is a travel destination that my family has really enjoyed vacationing in so we keep traveling there. And the last time we stayed there, we really loved our hotel. It was our favorite hotel in Beaufort we’ve stayed in. So, of course, we wanted to tell you about it!
That hotel is Hilton Garden Inn Beaufort. This is a hotel that while it is not actually in or right beside Historic Downtown Beaufort, it is very close. It was really convenient for traveling there. It was also really convenient to a number of restaurants.
And it was a really nice hotel. You pay a little more for what you would for an economy-type hotel. But then you get to stay at a place that really feels like a nice hotel. It really feels like a vacation.
So how do they achieve this? Well, let me tell you all about it.
Guest Rooms
Let me start with the guest rooms. We had a room with two queen beds, which I much prefer to double beds. And they were very comfortable beds. They are the kind of bed where from the second you lie down, you feel like you could just fall asleep right away.
And the room itself was great.
They were aesthetically pleasing with great decor and colors. But more importantly, let’s talk about size.
Now, we had a handicap accessible room. So that may have made our room larger than others. But boy, was our room huge. There was just so much room for our stuff and to walk around. Even with all the room, they made a great use of space. There were cubbys under a bench off the desk, for instance.
There were multiple hooks in the bathroom to hang your stuff. There was a spacious closet.
Things like that all throughout the room.
But one of my favorite features of our room was the television.
It was much bigger than most guest rooms I have stayed in. There were some basketball games I wanted to watch during my stay here. It made watching the games great – especially the games that went the way I wanted them to! So if you are traveling to Beaufort and there is a game on you want to watch during your trip, this is a great hotel to stay in for that reason.
Dining Options
Now, this hotel does not have a continental breakfast. I am quite fond of continental breakfast options, as it does save you money and is quite convenient.
But speaking of convenience, there is breakfast available. There is a continental breakfast available for a charge.
You can also order breakfast menu items à la carte for a little less than the breakfast buffet, and that’s what we chose. My favorite thing I ordered was the French Toast.
This was some of the best French Toast I’ve ever had. Same with the bacon. The bacon was cooked to perfection. The strawberries and whipped cream was great, too. The breakfast was just delicious.
Now, that was the first day. And on that first day, I went in the middle of the breakfast hours. The second day, I went right before breakfast ended. So I don’t know if that affected the food quality. But I ordered the buttermilk pancakes the next day. And while they were good, they were not as good as the day before. Even the presentation wasn’t as good.
And the bacon was not as good (though still good). So my advice to you: don’t go at the very end of breakfast. Go towards the beginning or the middle of the breakfast hours. You can check for the breakfast hours listed during your stay in the hotel lobby.
I will say the service was really good during my breakfast. We had the same server both days and she remembered us and had our drinks ready to go the way we wanted them the second day. It’s really nice and kind of rare these days to have that kind of service.
Let’s say though you don’t want a full breakfast. Well, if you just want some coffee and something quick and light for breakfast, there is a Starbucks within walking distance.
Breakfast isn’t the only food and drink option you can get at the hotel. They serve American classic fare like pizza, ribs, steak, pasta, sandwiches, and salads in the evenings. Though I can’t comment on the quality of the food there since we chose to go to restaurants in the evenings.
There is also a bar in the lobby.
So you can enjoy a drink and relax at night.
And they also have a shop in the lobby where you can purchase drinks and snacks. There are more choices at their shop than at other hotel lobbies, so I was pleased there.
Other Resort Amenities
Hilton Garden Inn Beaufort has a seasonal outdoor pool. There are tables and chairs all around the pool, too, so it makes for a great meeting place as well.
Speaking of which, there is plenty of seating outside.
This is great since Beaufort is such a beautiful city. You can sit around with your family or friends talking and taking in the beauty of the area and the coastal air. It’s very relaxing.
There is also plenty of seating inside at the front of the hotel and the back of the hotel to sit and relax.
So you can still do that even if the weather isn’t great during your vacation.
They have a great fitness center, too.
They also have a business center with a computer and printer.
Beauty
And finally, as I have mentioned earlier, the hotel is in a really beautiful part of Beaufort. Even the parking lot is beautiful.
Conclusion
Hilton Garden Inn Beaufort is my family’s favorite hotel when we visit Beaufort and for good reason. It is a beautiful hotel with big spacious rooms, comfortable beds, and great amenities. It is surrounded by the beauty of Beaufort. The hotel is also very convenient to Historic Downtown Beaufort as well as a lot of restaurants. And they have a great hotel restaurant serving delicious food and a bar you can relax in at night.
It is definitely worth it to pay a little more to stay here than a cheaper hotel option nearby. Especially because staying here still isn’t that expensive. Especially if you book your stay through this website.
