Sesame Place is such a great theme park for anyone with young kids or grandkids. You can create wonderful memories in the Sesame Street-centric, child-centric theme park. And its location in Langhorne, Pennsylvania is convenient to anyone in the Philadelphia area.
And Sesame Place has a lot of fun special events throughout the year. The next couple of months is no exception. And that is because Elmo’s Furry Fest is happening!
Elmo’s Furry Fest takes place on the weekends at Sesame Place. There are different themes depending on when they are.
- Elmo’s Rockin’ Birthday Bash: February 5th & 6th
- My Fuzzy Valentine’s Celebration: February 12th & 13th
- Mardi Gras Celebration: February 19th, 20th, 26th & 27th
- St. Patrick’s Day Celebration: March 5th, 6th, 12th & 13th
- Big Bird’s Birthday Pajama Party: March 19th & 20th
These are a great way to get in the spirit of the holiday or theme with your family. And there are a lot of fun activities that take place during these celebrations.
Furry Friends Dance Party
Enjoy dancing along with your favorite Sesame Street characters at the Furry Friends Dance Party. The Furry Friends Dance Party takes place near Oscar’s Wacky Taxi.
Mardi Gras Parade
Think you can’t see a Mardi Gras Parade because you’re not in New Orleans? Well, think again, because they have a great Mardi Gras-themed parade starring your favorite Sesame Street characters! Your favorite Sesame Street pals will be on specially decorated floats in this colorful, musical parade.
This parade actually starts on February 5th, so even if you are not visiting during a Mardi Gras celebration date you can enjoy it, too!
Themed Character Dining
Now, one activity that is different depending on when you visit is the character dining. Your experience will be different depending on which date you attend. You can attend multiple times in the next few weeks and have different experiences.

Elmo the Musical
The popular Elmo the Musical is returning to Sesame Place! It is full of imagination, music, and math.
Elmo’s Party Balloon Scavenger Hunt
Enjoy a party-themed, interactive scavenger hunt. You can make your way around the theme park while looking for different party balloons to check off your list. In the end, you get to collect a fun prize!
Culinary Offerings
And finally, enjoy some winter favorites this year at the park. You can make your own S’mores at Sesame Place’s brand-new family-friendly fire pits. There is also hot cocoa available to keep you warm. There is also a different themed dining experience each week!
