Epic Universe: What We Know
The Universal Orlando Resort just got more epic – literally!
Universal Orlando just announced that they are adding a fourth theme park to its Orlando, Florida Resort! This new theme park will be called Epic Universe. Epic Universe will join Universal’s other two theme parks (Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure) and water park (Volcano Bay).
Universal promises the new park will be its most immersive and innovative theme park to date. And that’s kind of a big deal to say that since we know the parks they already have are so great!
We do know it is going to be huge, too. Epic Universe will be located on a 750-acre site near the Orange County Convention Center.
Now, currently, all of Universal’s parks are located really close to each other. This won’t be the case with Epic Universe, as it is about twelve minutes from the rest of Universal Orlando Resort. But Universal will be providing transportation from the current Universal Orlando Resort to Epic Universe.
And if you stay at Universal’s brand new Universal’s Endless Summer Resort – Surfside Inn and Suites hotel? Well, you’ll be halfway between the current Universal Orlando Resort and Epic Universe!
Epic Universe: Rumors
So we know some of the logistics of the new park, but at this point, we don’t know much confirmed about what will be in the park. And what I mean by that is we don’t what movies or characters will be represented. We also don’t know about any specific rides or attractions.
But there are rumors that the following popular movies or fandoms will have a section at Universal Orlando:
Nintendo
A Nintendo section would have to include Super Mario rides, and one ride I keep hearing getting mentioned is a Mario Kart attraction.
Fantastic Beasts
Fantastic Beasts makes a lot of sense. There is, after all, already a Wizarding World of Harry Potter part to the Universal Orlando Resort.
Universal Classic Monsters
When I say Universal Classic Monsters, I am referring to the classic horror movie monsters. This includes Frankenstein, Dracula, the Mummy, Wolfman, etc.
How to Train Your Dragon
This popular movie would make a great children’s section to the park.
So obviously none of this is confirmed, but we can always hope!
