Yomiuriland is a fun amusement park in Tokyo. Since it first opened in 1964, it’s been a great destination for family fun. And there really is something for everyone, from children’s attractions to thrill rides and more.

We’re going to take a look at some of many things to do at the park. And we also have a way to get a discount on Yomiuri Land ticket prices!

Yomiuriland Attractions

There are 44 different attractions at Yomiuri Land. Here are some of the top attractions at the amusement park, separated by the different areas in the park.

Goodjoba‼ Area

This section is themed to “monozukuri” (Japanese craftsmanship). There are 4 different factories that allow you to learn about the processes behind manufacturing.

  • Fashion Factory
  • Bungu (Stationery) Factory

Attractions in this area include:

Campus Challenge

Age Requirement: at least 5 years old

Play 7 games that are based on the manufacturing of “Campus Note” (the popular brand of notebooks and stationery in Japan).

Custom Garage

Height Requirement: at least 110 cm
Age Requirement: for kids 6 years and under, a chaperone is needed

Guests of the park can install automobile parts and then take a test drive.

A Game of Skill: “Tama Goro”

Age Requirement: at least 3 years and older; for kids 6 years and under, a chaperone is needed

Guests can enjoy this fun ball-coaster attraction, the first of its kind in Japan.

Hirame Kids

Age Requirement: for kids 6 years and under; a chaperone is needed

This is a kids playground themed to “Kokuyo no Ehon.”

Kadokeshi Tram

Age Requirement: at least 2 years and older; for kids 6 years and under, a chaperone is needed

This trolley-style attraction is themed to the “Kadokeshi” products of the “Kokuyo” Japanese stationary brand.

Kuru Kuru Compass

Age Requirement: One adult maximum per car
Height Requirement: at least 90 cm; chaperone required for anyone 120 cm and under

Guests rotate in a circle in the air during this colored pencil and compass themed ride.

My Knit

Age Requirement: chaperones required for anyone 6 years old and under

Create your own unique knitted item! You’ll need to get a numbered ticket to participate in this attraction – these are distributed starting when the park opens.

My Racing

Height Requirement: at least 110 cm for driver’s seat & at least 90 cm for passenger seat

In this attraction, you can design a car and race it.

Pencil Tower

Height Requirement: at least 110 cm; chaperone required for anyone 120 cm and under

This is a fun tower attraction with a mechanical pencil and ruler theme.

Spin Drive

Height Requirement: chaperone required for anyone under 90 cm
Age Requirement:
 at least 2 years old & chaperones required for 2 year olds

Kids and adults can enjoy the drift experience on this car-related attraction.

Spin Runway

Height Requirement: at least 110 cm; chaperone required for anyone under 130 cm
Age Requirement:
at least 4 years old; chaperones required for 6 year olds and under

You’ll have a great time on the first spiral-lift indoor roller coaster in Japan.

Splash U.F.O.

Height Requirement: at least 110 cm; chaperone required for anyone 130 cm and under

This boat ride has a built-in video game.

U.F.O. Bump!

Height Requirement: at least 115 cm

This attraction is based on “NISSIN Yakisoba UFO.”

Bandit Area

Fun things to do in this section of the park include:

Animal Rescue

Age Requirement: chaperone required for anyone 5 years old and under

The idea behind this shooting ride is that you’re protecting the animals.

Bandit

Height Requirement: at least 120 cm
Age Requirement: at least 6 years old

If you love roller coasters, you won’t want to miss the Number One roller coaster in all of Yomiuriland. It’s 1,560 meters long and reaches speeds of 110 km/h!

Laser Athletics ~Temple of the Sun~

Age Requirement: at least 6 years old

In order to capture the Temple of the Sun, you’ll have to get through winding laser traps first.

Family Area

You and your family will love these fun rides:

Animal Coaster

Age Requirement: at least 3 years old; chaperone required for anyone 5 years old and under

This charming roller coaster is animal themed.

Dessert Cup

Age Requirement: chaperone required for anyone 5 years old and under

Spin around in a yummy looking dessert cup!

Giant Ferris Wheel

Age Requirement: chaperone required for anyone 5 years old and under

What would a trip to an amusement park be without a ferris wheel ride?

Kids Fire Fighter “Kesshippi”

Age Requirement: chaperone required for anyone 5 years old and under

Ride around in a miniature fire engine and put out fires!

Kids Railway “Oliver” ~Music Party~

Age Requirement: chaperone required for anyone 5 years old and under

Children of all ages and sizes can enjoy this railroad ride.

Flag Street

You’ll feel as if you’re actually driving a classic automobile.

Loop Coaster MOMOnGA

Height Requirement: at least 110 cm for sitting & at least 140 cm for standing

This thrilling ride is the first standing and rotating roller coaster in Japan.

Looping Starship

Height Requirement: at least 120 cm
Age Requirement: at least 6 years old

Guests sitting inside this spaceship will make a 360 degree loop (so you will go upside down!).

SHATEKI

Earn prizes for playing fun games: ring toss, throwing darts, and shooting targets.

Wandit

Height Requirement: at least 90 cm
Age Requirement: at least 3 years old; for kids 5 years and under, a chaperone is needed

This is a colorful, dog themed roller coaster.

Lan Lan Area

Bungee Jump

Height Requirement: weight between 38-109 kg, waist size ~120 cm
Age Requirement:
at least 12 years old; parental or guardian consent required for those under 18 years old

You’ll feel incredible as you jump from 22 meters high!

Sea Lion Show: Nippon TV Lan Lan Hall

Lovable sea lions are the star of this fun show.

Plaza Stage of the Sun

Rides in this section include:

Frog Hopper

Height Requirement: at least 90 cm

This fun ride, which sends you “hopping” up and down, is one that (almost) all ages can enjoy.

Guru Guru Drive

Height Requirement: 90-130 cm and under
Age Requirement: ages 3 years old and up

If your child has ever wanted to ride in a car by themselves, this attraction is for them!

Merry-Go-Land Dog

Age Requirement: for kids 5 years and under, a chaperone is needed

You can ride adorable dogs on this unique merry-go-round.

Pool WAI (Water Amusement Island)

During the summer, you can stay cool at Yomiuri Land Pool WAI. There are 5 pools and 3 different slides, including a diving pool, wave pool, lazy river, straight slide and slalom slide.

Special Events at Yomiuri Land

In addition to pools in the summer, there are other seasonal events and experiences that can make your visit extra special.

Jewellumination

This event is a dazzling LED illumination inspired by gemstone colors (garnet, aquamarine, emerald, ruby, sapphire, topaz, amethyst, diamond, moonstone, peridot, opal and tanzanite). You can enjoy the Jewellumination from autumn to spring.

Cherry Blossom Season

From mid-to-late March to early April, you’ll be able to see so many cherry trees in full bloom. Take a stroll and enjoy the views, or look down on the trees from the Gondola Sky Shuttle that connects Keio Yomiuriland Station to the park entrance.

And if you want a unique way to take in the sights, you can do it while riding the popular roller coaster Bandit, or maybe from on top of the Ferris wheel.
