Itinerary
You’ll meet your guide outside Dragon’s Den Music Club. It was featured on the TV show “True Detective.” The Music Club has an eclectic range of music from DJ nights to reggae and Latin dance parties.
There’s more than 20 bars and clubs on Frenchmen Street and you can hear just about every style of music, including zydeco, blues, Dixieland, brass bands, jazz, funk, Latin, rock, EDM. electronic, hip hop, Americana plus local DJs. You can often find brass bands performing on the sidewalks of Frenchmen Street.
Frenchmen Street was named for the 5 who were executed in 1769 near the river end of the street. Your guide will tell you about that. He’ll also tell you about hauntings in the French Quarter and tales of vampires. You’ll also hear stories of the music in the Big Easy from 1718 to now.
Along the way, you’ll visit several of the bars and clubs. In one, the bartender will show you how to create a favorite New Orleans cocktail, like a Sazerac or Pimm’s Cup.
