LuminoCity Dino Safari is a fun, family-friendly, immersive walkthrough experience currently at Freehold Raceway Mall in Freehold, New Jersey. It has all the fun of a Jurassic Quest or lantern festival all combined in one great event! I want to tell you more about all the fun things you can do at LuminoCity Dino Safari, including how to save money on a ticket.
Activities
Here are some of the activities and features at LuminoCity Dino Safari:
- Animatronic Dinosaurs:
- Over 70 dinosaurs from the Jurassic, Triassic & Cretaceous periods that are up to 46 feet tall
- Glowing Lanterns:
- The dinosaurs are interspersed with glowing lantern displays handcrafted to look like plants, dinosaurs, and other creatures
- Neon Octo-Beats:
- A glow-party complete with a dance floor and a huge inflatable Octopus DJ!
- Playground
- A tropical funland for kids full of bouncy dinosaur spring riders, traces of dinosaur fossils & cubby houses
- Fossils Hunt:
- Kids can look for fossils in a huge sandbox
- LED Dance Floor:
- A dance floor for kids where the colors change when they step on it
- Caveman Axe Throw:
- Glow-in-the-dark axe-throwing in a giant inflatable dinosaur head
- Featuring velcro target boards & soft, kid-friendly axes
- LED Seesaws:
- Every bounce on the seesaw brings dreamlike colors to light up the night’s sky
- Photo Ops:
- There are great dinosaur photo opportunities throughout the event
- Bounce Zone:
- Colorful, prehistoric themed bounce houses
- Includes new huge Volcano Bouncer
- Also includes smaller bounce houses for younger guests
- Costs extra for kids; kids must be accompanied by adults who can enter for free
- Socks are required & you can purchase them onsite
- Dino Speedway:
- Ride a dino through a Speedway course
- Costs extra (kids ages 3 and younger can ride for free but must be accompanied by a paying adult)

LuminoCity Dino Safari will be running through August 16, 2026.
The event takes place at evenings (which is great because it means you avoid the hottest part of the day in the summer!). Its hours are as follows:
- Monday & Tuesday:
- 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM
- Last Entry: 8:30 PM
- Thursday & Sunday
- 5:00 PM – 9:30 PM
- Last Entry: 9:00 PM
- Friday & Saturday
- 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM
- Last Entry: 9:30 PM
As you can see, it is not open on Wednesdays.
