If you are looking for that perfect Halloween event in New York City, then head to the Bronx. Because you can’t do much better than New York Botanical Garden’s Spooky Pumpkin Garden Nights. It is that special kind of event that has something for adults and children. In other words, you could attend the event with your family, friends, a date, etc. And you can all have a great time!

Kiku After Hours
Head to Enid A. Haupt Conservatory where you can see kiku after dark. These are Japanese chrysanthemums whose colors are perfect for fall. You can also walk the weaving path of the Edible Harvest here. And you can enjoy looking at the sculptural plantings found in this exhibit.
Giant Skeletons on Parade
Larger-than-life skeletons are on display here at Spooky Pumpkin Garden Nights. They were specially commissioned by Bronx-based puppeteer and founder and director of “Mascara Viva”, Lucrecia Novoa.
The Secret Life of Scarecrows: Live Shadow Puppet Performance
Enjoy a great performance by the award-winning cast of Hit the Lights! Theater Co. They’ll tell a great story of scarecrows awakening on Halloween night that is perfect for the season. They use shadow puppetry, live music, and vintage overhead projectors.
Monster Mash Dance Party
Head over to the Conservatory Plaza, where live music is playing and guests will be dancing. You can join in the dance or have a snack or drink and enjoy the atmosphere. After all, beer and food are available for purchase here.
Decorate a Treat Bag
Kids can decorate their own treat bag and then use these treat bags to store all the treats they pick up throughout the evening!
Learn about the origins of your favorite chocolate treats and even participate in grinding cacao!
This can be a fun and educational experience. You can learn about carnivorous plants and even take home your own bug-eating plant!
Since this is a nighttime experience, it is a great time to learn about nocturnal New York Botanical Garden residents.
