Myrtle Beach, South Carolina is such a great travel destination.  Going to the beach is only scratching the surface when it comes to things to do.  There are a lot of fun sightseeing destinations as well as special events that make this city special.

So it should come as no surprise to you that Myrtle Beach is a lot of fun during New Year’s Eve.  There are a lot of special events and things to do around town that I want to tell you about.

1. New Year’s Eve Fireworks Extravaganza

Love seeing fireworks on New Year’s Eve?  Then you are in for a treat if you visit Myrtle Beach.   Because you can see the New Year’s Eve Fireworks Extravaganza Broadway At The Beach.  Weather permitting, the fireworks start at 8:00 PM.

Broadway at the Beach is of course a great place to visit when you are in Myrtle Beach.  There are a lot of great entertainment options and great stores to shop.  There are a lot of wonderful restaurants there, too.  My family always loves visiting Broadway at the Beach whenever we’re in Myrtle Beach.

If you’d like to take advantage of everything Broadway at the Beach, then consider staying at Hampton Inn Myrtle Beach Broadway at the Beach.  It is located right beside Broadway at the Beach and a lot of the top attractions are within walking distance.

2. Noon Year’s Day Party

Speaking of Broadway at the Beach attractions that are within walking distance of Hampton Inn, one of them is Ripley’s Aquarium of Myrtle Beach.  And Ripley’s Aquarium of Myrtle Beach just happens to have a great event on New Year’s Day.  This is technically not New Year’s Eve, but it is definitely worth mentioning.  It is also an event that can be a bit easier to do if you have kids who you don’t want to stay up late.

This party takes place from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Sunday, January 1st, 2023.  And the party includes a live DJ, Ripley’s mascot appearance, crafts, prizes, and even a mermaid dive show.  Snacks, beer, and wine are also available for purchase.  So this could be an event the whole family could enjoy together and might work better for families with kids than a New Year’s Eve event.

A great thing about this event, too, is that it is included in the cost of general admission.  You can buy a ticket to Ripley’s Aquarium here.

3. Noon Year’s Eve Celebration

If you really want your celebration to take place on New Year’s Eve and you have kids, though, you can Lucy Buffett’s Lulu’s.  They have a kid-friendly celebration at 10:00 AM.  There’s a live band, face painting, balloon animals, etc.  You can even visit there on New Year’s Eve and then Ripley’s on New Year’s Day!

Find out more information about this event here.

4. Hollywood Beach Red Carpet

But perhaps you don’t have any kids with you.  Or you have babysitting.  Either way, maybe you want a more adult New Year’s Eve event.  Well, then how about checking out Myrtle Beach’s Biggest New Year’s Eve Party?

That, of course, would be the Hollywood Beach Red Carpet Party.  It takes place at Tin Roof, which is a beachfront eatery with a rooftop patio and live music.

This is a great party featuring:

  • Live Music in the Green Room & Live Music Side
  • Multiple Bars
  • Complimentary Champagne Toast at Midnight
  • Confetti Cannon

Definitely a great event if you want to enjoy seeing the beach while partying for NYE!

You can buy tickets to this event here.  But hurry – tickets are selling out fast!

5. Dave & Buster’s New Year’s Eve Event

Dave & Buster’s is a fun place to go every night of the year, so of course they’d bring A++ game on New Year’s Eve, right?  Well, you’ll get to enjoy arcade games, a premium appetizer buffet, and more here.  You can even get VIP admission which includes unlimited soda, tea, or coffee, a New Year’s Toast (with valid ID), unlimited play for non-redemption games, $20 power card with 100 chips for redemption games, party hats, and noisemakers.

Another fun place to spend New Year’s Eve in Myrtle Beach is at the Avista Resort.  This event features dinner, award-winning live entertainment featuring Gary Lowder & SMOKIN’ HOT, and a midnight champagne toast.  They’ll also live stream the New Year’s Ball Drop.  Party favors and a Keepsake Avista Resort Champagne Glass is included.  But it should sell out quickly so you’ll need to act fast by clicking here.

Have you seen the Carolina Opry Christmas Special yet this holiday season?  Well, if you haven’t, you’re missing out.  And if you’ve been, you may want to go again.  It is a wonderful holiday show featuring award-winning vocalists and musicians, more than 35 Christmas trees, snow, and more.  There is a good reason it has been voted by CNBC as the “Top attraction in Myrtle Beach” more than once.

And it just so happens that its last performance is January 1, 2023.  So New Year’s Eve is one of your last chances to see the show.  So you might want to spend your New Year’s Eve checking it out.
