It’s that time of year again in Scottsdale, Arizona. Yes, it’s time to have some fun and learn about Persian culture. Because the Scottsdale Persian New Year Festival is back for another great year!
The Persian New Year is also referred to as the Iranian New Year or Nowruz. It has Iranian and Zoroastrian origins, though it has been celebrated in very diverse communities. It is a holy day for Zoroastrians, Baháʼís, and some Muslim communities, though most people celebrate it as a secular holiday.
The Persian New Year begins on the spring equinox. So it marks the beginning of spring in the Northern Hemisphere.
This year, it takes place on Sunday, March 20, 2022. But the Scottsdale Persian Festival will be taking place on Saturday, March 5, 2022, from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
The Scottsdale Persian Festival is taking place at the Scottsdale Waterfront on 7135 East Camelback Road. It is an event that adults and children can enjoy. It is a wonderful celebration and exploration of historical Persian culture.
It is also a great place to visit to enjoy the delicious cuisines of the Middle East! You’ll eat delicious food. You can also get free tea!
There are special activities just for children. Guest will also be entertained by cultural performances. And there is live entertainment. In fact, there is a special performance by Hengameh, the popular Persian singer!
