This year, you can visit an authentic German Christmas market without having to leave Maryland. In fact, you can find it at Baltimore’s Inner Harbor!
The authentic German Christmas Market in Baltimore is a wonderful event. It takes place at West Shore Park at the Inner Harbor on select dates from November 23, 2024, through December 24, 2024. And it really is a neat place to visit during the holiday season.
I’ll tell you about some of the great things at Baltimore’s Christmas Village. And then I’ll tell you how you can save money on tickets!
Vendors
Just like you would get in a traditional German Christmas market, you can get some great shopping here. You can buy traditional European food, sweets and drinks from vendors in wooden booths. The wines, spirits, and cocktails are really popular. You can also buy international holiday gifts, jewelry, ornaments, and other high-quality arts and crafts.

Glühwein Pyramid
Glühwein Pyramid is a newer attraction at the Christmas Village. It was introduced in 2019. It was custom-made by German craftsmen near Karlsruhe/ Germany. With its height (30 feet) and lights (3,000 of them), it shines brightly and stands out in the Inner Harbor.
Rides
You can also enjoy rides at the Baltimore Christmas Village! You’ll find a a 65′ high Ferris Wheel at Baltimore’s Bicentennial Plaza. There’s a historic Christmas Village carousel as well with different animal & carnival seats.
Santa & Gingy
The Christmas Village in Baltimore is also a great opportunity for a wonderful Christmas photo. You can get a photo with Santa Claus and Gingy. Gingy is Baltimore’s Christmas Village’s popular mascot.
