There are so many fun activities at Disney World. You can ride thrill rides like Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, family rides, water park rides, watch shows and parades, swim in pools, eat at character dining experiences, etc.
But have you ever thought about fishing at Disney World? Have you ever wondered if you could fish at Disney World?
Well, the answer is, yes, you can! It is the happiest place on earth. So, of course, you can fish there!
There are guided catch-and-release outings at Disney World. This way, you can experience bass fishing at its finest. And an exciting thing for those coming from up north is that you can do this year-round!
Since it is a guided experience, you can do it even if you don’t have a lot of experience. But if you do have experience, you’ll have fun, too. And unlike some of the other wilder rides at Disney World, you don’t have to worry about height requirements.
There are guided bass fishing excursions on a 21-foot Sun Tracker pontoon boat. This accommodates up to five guests. There’s also a tournament-style NITRO bass fishing boat that’s available for up to three Guests. You can book a 2-hour or 4-hour excursion.
All of the excursions include:
- An experienced guide
- Rod and reel
- Tackle
- Artificial and/or live bait (NITRO boats, however, will not offer live bait
- Beverages (though only non-alcoholic – guests are not allowed to bring alcoholic beverages aboard)
There is a lot of great fish out there, too. For example, in Bay Lake, you can fish for:
- Largemouth bass
- BlueGill
- Catfish
- SunFish

If you want to enjoy fishing at Disney World, possibly the best place to stay is at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. Fort Wilderness gives you the feeling like you’re out in the wilderness but you’re just a boat ride away from Magic Kingdom, and a bus ride away from the other theme parks.
There are multiple places to fish at Fort Wilderness. You can enjoy a guided bass fishing excursion on Bay Lake. You can also enjoy Dockside Fishing there, too. Casting-rod fishing gear is available for rental at Bike Barn.
There is more than one way you can stay at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campgrounds. There are four types of campsites that can accommodate everything from tents to forty-five-foot and longer RVs. Each campsite has:
