Now that it’s October, I am sure you are getting really excited for Halloween.  It is definitely that time of the year where you want to be scared.  And if you’re looking for great spooks and scares, you definitely need to check out Howl O’Scream at SeaWorld.

Howl-O-Scream is a brand new event at SeaWorld theme park in Orlando, Florida.  It is an after-hours event with haunted houses, scary shows, scare zones, and more.  This is a great event for older kids and adults who want a scarier experience than SeaWorld Spooktacular, SeaWorld’s event that is more aimed at families and kids.

But before you go, check out our tips on how to make your experience even better.

1. Get Your Tickets Online

See Monster Stomp starring Jack the Ripper at Howl-O-Scream at SeaWorld Orlando's after hour Halloween event

One thing about Howl-O-Scream that makes it different from other events at SeaWorld Orlando is that the event takes place after the park closes for the night.  So that means the event is not included in your regular park admission.

But luckily, there are ways to save money on your tickets to Howl-O-Scream.  We tell you about some great coupons here.

2. Get a Skip the Line Ticket

Learn how to skip the line at Beneath the Ice & other haunted houses at Howl o Scream in SeaWorld theme park in Orlando, FL

There are a lot of fun activities going on at Howl-O-Scream, like the haunted houses.  Doing rides at this event is also fun.  Roller coasters at night give you a completely different experience.  So I am sure you want to do all the rides and haunted houses.  And I’m sure you’d rather not spend most of the night in line.

So consider getting a skip-the-line upgraded ticket.  That can allow you to skip all the lines for haunted houses and rides.  Plus, it gets you reserved seating for the Monster Stomp musical show starring Jack the Ripper.  We tell you more about the skip-the-line ticket options here.

3. Get a Howl-O-Scream Vacation Package

Visit SeaWorld's brand new Halloween event, Howl-O-Scream, and save money by getting a vacation package

If you live in Orlando or a nearby area like Jacksonville or Daytona Beach, then you may not want to get a hotel during your visit.  But if you live somewhere else, then visiting Howl-O-Scream also means getting a hotel room.

Consider saving money on this by buying a vacation package.  It gets you admission to Howl-O-Scream and SeaWorld during the day.  You also get reserved show seating at SeaWorld Orlando.  And you get a free night at a hotel!  We tell you more about this great deal here.

This is a very special event.  It is in its inaugural year.  So this is an experience you will want to remember for years to come.

So when you do visit, make sure you check out the new Howl-O-Scream gift shop.  It is located near the Wild Arctic part of SeaWorld.  It has a lot of great things, like shirts, jackets, mugs, decor, etc.

5. Get a No Boo Necklace to Get Less Scares

No Boo Necklace means you won't interact with actors in the scare zones at Howl oScream a SeaWorld Orlando theme park

Obviously, a big reason you go to Howl-O-Scream is that you want to get scared.  That’s part of the fun.  But what if you like getting scared, but not that much?  Or what if you are attending this event with those who love getting scared but you don’t like it as much?

If that describes you, then you need to get a No Boo Necklace!  Think of it like wearing garlic to avoid vampires.  The roaming “monsters” will see your necklace and then know not to approach you.  It makes for a much better experience if you don’t enjoy that part of the evening.

6. Get a Drink at one of the Bars

SeaWorld Orlando's Howl-O-Scream after hours Halloween event has multiple bars with drinks for adults

This event features multiple themed bars throughout the event.  There’s Siren’s Last Call, Longshoremen Tavern, Tormented, and Poison Grotto.  So check at least one of these out and relax with a drink!  That is, of course, as long as you are not driving and you are 21 years old or older.

7. Don’t Wear a Costume

Unfortunately, costumes are not allowed at this event.  So don’t wear one.
