A lot of people get President’s Day off this Monday February 19th so taking a family trip to Walt Disney World around Valentine’s Day would make a lot of sense, but do you worry there’s nothing romantic to do in Walt Disney World? Well, you would be wrong in assuming there aren’t enough romantic activities, because there are actually quite a lot of romantic things you can do all around Walt Disney World. Here are 20 romantic ways for you to spend Valentine’s Day:
1. Horse & Carriage Ride
Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside & Port Orleans French Quarter are great hotels for romance, and what could be more romantic than a horse & carriage ride with your true love? You can also enjoy a horse & carriage ride at the Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. You can currently book a stay at one of these hotels at a discounted rate through Undercover Tourist.
2. Couples Massage
Another romantic thing you could do with your love is to take a couples massage together. You could get one at the spa at Grand Floridian. I recommend booking a stay at Saratoga Springs through David’s Vacation Rentals (for more information on doing that, see here) and here are 5 ways you can save at Grand Floridian.
3. Watch the fireworks from the beach
What could be more romantic than cuddling up with your love and watching the beautiful fireworks at Disney parks? A great place to do that would be at the beach at the Beach Club, and I’ve got 5 ways you can save money at the Beach Club here.
4. Watch the fireworks from a boat
Take a romantic Ferrytale Fireworks Dessert Cruise to watch the Happily Ever After fireworks at Magic Kingdom (very appropriate on Valentine’s Day, don’t you think?). This cruise sets sail from the Contemporary Marina, Polynesian Marina, Grand Floridian Marina, Fort Wilderness Marina & Wilderness Lodge Marina.
5. Watch the fireworks from California Grill
California Grill is an upscale restaurant at the top of Contemporary and you’ll be able to have beautiful views of the Seven Seas Lagoon & Magic Kingdom fireworks while you enjoy delicious cuisine with your love. A wonderful Valentine’s Day treat, especially if you are staying at the Contemporary (and I’ve got tips on how to save money at Contemporary here).
6. Dinner at Monsieur Paul
What could be more romantic than Valentine’s in Paris? If you can’t actually make it to France, then how about Monsieur Paul at this France part of the World Showcase in EPCOT? It would just be a short walk away if you stay at the Beach Club, Yacht Club or Boardwalk.
7. Dinner at Tutto Italia
Another romantic part of the World Showcase is Italy, and if you’ve always wanted a romantic trip to Italy with your love but can’t travel that far, then enjoy a delicious meal at Tutto Italia where you can feel like you’re in Italy!
8. Dinner at San Angel Inn
San Angel Inn in the Mexican Pavilion has a wonderfully romantic setting. It’s always Mexico at night there with a beautiful pyramid view – and it’s a great way to enjoy a romantic evening atmosphere but since you’re actually indoors it will be great no matter what the weather is!
9. Italian Water Taxi Tour at the Boathouse
Cruise Lake Buena Vista via a romantic Italian water taxi. You can book a Venezia Champagne Cruise which comes with a champagne toast and chocolate-covered strawberries. And you can take a romantic boat right over to Disney Springs if you stay at the aforementioned Port Orleans Riverside, Port Orleans French Quarter, Saratoga Springs or the Old Key West Resort.
10. Enjoy a romantic hot tub dip late at night
All the moderate hotels and deluxe hotels have hot tubs included in the price of the hotel, so take advantage with romantic time in the hot tub!
11. Victoria & Albert at the Grand Floridian
If you want romance and fine dining then book your reservation for Victoria & Albert at the aforementioned Grand Floridian, which has been a AAA Five Diamond Award recipient since 2000. This is a fancy and it probably goes without saying can be expensive, but here’s a way to significantly save on Disney dining.
12. Topolino’s Terrace at the Riviera Resort
Disney’s newest resort, the Riviera Resort, is a very romantic hotel in and of itself. It has a great European theme, and they even have tower rooms just for two if it is just you and your partner on the trip. The Riviera Resort has great restaurants, including Topolino’s Terrace, the rooftop restaurant. It has a great menu with French and Italian food that I love and I suspect you will, too. And by the way, you can find out more about the Riviera Resort here, including how to save money on your stay.
13. Jiko: The Cooking Place at Animal Kingdom Lodge
Enjoy boutique South African wines and African cuisine at this fancy restaurant that can make for a nice intimate evening with your love while you take advantage of the in-room babysitting available at the hotel if you are a guest (and you can find out how to save money at Animal Kingdom Lodge here).
13. Morimoto Asia at Disney Springs
Enjoy innovative Pan-Asian cuisine in an upscale restaurant at Morimoto Asia over in Disney Springs. It is also close to the boat docks and you can take a boat here from Old Key West or Saratoga Springs, which can add to the romance of the evening.
14. Canoe Together
Enjoy the tranquil waters at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort while enjoying a canoe ride together
15. Kayak Together
If you like to mix romance and adventure, consider renting a kayak at Fort Wilderness Resort and kayaking together!
16. Boat ride
Enjoy a 2-person boat ride together at the marina at a lot of Disney resorts: Beach Club, Yacht Club, Polynesian, Grand Floridian, Fort Wilderness & Wilderness Lodge, Saratoga Springs, Old Key West Resort, Boardwalk Inn & Villas and Port Orleans French Quarter & Riverside.
17. Rent a 2-Person Surrey Bike
Pedal side by side on a surrey bike for 2. These rentals are available at Saratoga Springs, Old Key West Resort, Boardwalk Inn & Villas and Port Orleans French Quarter & Riverside.
18. Be Our Guest Restaurant
Be inspired by one of the best love stories of Disney movies, Beauty & The Beast, when you eat at the restaurant inspired by that Disney classic. And for tips on how to save money at that restaurant, click here.
19. Tony’s Town Square Restaurant
Be inspired by another iconic Disney couple, Lady & The Tramp, at Tony’s Town Square Restaurant at Magic Kingdom, a restaurant I consider to be one of the best Magic Kingdom restaurants.
