When will Disney fireworks return?
This is a question that a lot of Disney fans have been asking!
Now that both Walt Disney World and Disneyland have reopened and some of the pandemic-related regulations have been lifted, many have been wondering if fireworks would be returning anytime soon.
And luckily, that question has been answered!
Fireworks will start back in Disney World on July 1, 2021.
Magic Kingdom Fireworks in 2021
At the Magic Kingdom, you’ll be able to see “Happily Ever After,” the fireworks spectacular that combines projections onto Cinderella Castle, favorite Disney songs, and of course fireworks.
And if you’re staying at a Disney World resort before “Happily Ever After” returns July 1, you can watch a virtual viewing of the show from the comfort of your hotel room.
Epcot Fireworks in 2021
You can also catch “EPCOT Forever” nightly at the Epcot theme park. This fireworks show, set over the World Showcase Lagoon, includes music from current and previous Epcot attractions (like Spaceship Earth, Magic Journeys, Kitchen Cabaret, Soarin’, and Horizons).
We were able to watch Epcot Forever when it debuted on October 1, 2019:
2021 Disneyland Fireworks
Disney World isn’t the only place that will start showing fireworks in July 2021. Beginning July 4, you can see “Mickey’s Mix Magic” at Disneyland park this summer. This is a fun, high energy show that includes lasers, lighting and projections, involving Main Street USA, the outside of “it’s a small world” ride and the water screens on Rivers of America. Basically, it’s a fun, giant dance party to celebrate Mickey and Minnie Mouse. And, of course, fireworks are like the cherry on top!
Best Disney World Hotels for Fireworks
If you want to plan a trip to Disney World to view the fireworks at Magic Kingdom and Epcot, then you’ll want to say close to the action. The following hotels are close enough to either Magic Kingdom or Epcot that you don’t have to take a bus. (When possible, I particularly enjoy walking back to my hotel after fireworks because you don’t have to worry about waiting in any lines for transportation.) You can also often view the fireworks from the hotel.
